Snowed in!

This is what we call "THE REDNECK SLED" ....or maybe we should call it "City Peoples Sled"...not sure but it was pretty goofy!

Imagine what this is like for Max...walls of snow everywhere as tall as you! He was loving every minute of it!

When he fell over it was like the kid in Christmas Story "I CAN"T GET UP!"

Sunday morning after 2-3 hrs of shoveling, Steven found the cars!

What a great fun weekend! They are standing by the way...not sitting!

Its a Winter Wonderland out here in the east. We got over 2 feet in one day and the kids are in heaven! I went to get a few things on Friday and ended up in line at Costco for 30minutes and there were no sleds left! I was sure we would only get 3 inches because everyone was in a tizzy but i was so really wrong! What was predicted as perhaps 18 inches turned into almost 3 feet! It is beautiful and later they are going to build an igloo so pics of that to come later! Looks like we will have a white Christmas after all....because this snow is not going anywhere for a while! Church was cancelled and they went ahead and cancelled the 3 days of school this week! We are set with all we need so we're good for a few days! Steven says all we need is hot cocoa, root beer, and cookies (all check!).

A little Christmas perspective.

Isn't that awesome?! We will need Paul to weigh in on this a little.

This was a good video to watch right after getting killed on a biochem exam. We really do get easily caught up in the thick of thin things. And as we continue our Christmas festivities- sure they are small and insignificant, but as Tandy pointed out to me- Christmas is important to everyone on that video!

cool huh?

See what I mean? Internet is always good for a mid-finals week smile . . .

. . . the subject matter is very unfortunate- but this guy needs to find some better friends.

Couple Random Things . . .

. . . so, here I am, doing what I do best. one of these days I will shake the internet, but until that day, I hope to be continually provided with little gems like the ones found tonight.

1) Guess the job market isn't too bad after all. I just skimmed a story written by a baby name expert . . . thats right, "baby name expert!" the article was all about the hot new trends in future baby names. (by the way- will I ever not associate the future with the letter 'z'). but imagine that job interview- what kind of resume do you bring? and how do you get someone to pay you for predicting future baby names? future's lookin bright!

2) So someone in the family is allergic to mosquitos- they call it "skeeter syndrome." yes mom- another syndrome. So anyway- apparently this problem doesn't work too well in Minnesota so I have been looking around for good remedies and such. Just trying to figure out if people can develop resistance to them (who knows? maybe they really are like the Borg!) or if you can prevent them without wearing layers in the summer. Turns out there is a good remedy. I quote:

"I react to mosquito bites badly. Once I got bit on the forehead and it got as big as a golf ball. I also stay away from tall grass woods etc. my cousin had a wedding outdoors in the woods once and they almost rushed me to emergency. I was covered with bites all over my legs. bug spray does not work for me. my uncle suggested raw onion and that was the best thing ever. It got rid of the itching and they disappeared quickly." - Guest Sharon

No kidding huh? rub raw onion all over yourself and you're home free. (wonder if Wind River mosquitos are familiar with this trick yet). Really though- just who on earth is the "guest sharon" character? There are two possible identities: either she is a crazy whacko who is probably getting skinnier and healthier everyday by rubbing moopaloop oil on the soles of her feet . . .OR . . . she is a really clever college freshman out to get a couple laughs!

How funny would option 2 be? really- can you imagine going on some of these boards and being like "so yeah . . . pretty much I just use ___(noun)___ and it goes away in ___(time)___. be sure to incorporate all the necessities though- nothing works for me, golf ball head, emergency room- classic. Sounds like we have a new "i'm really bored" activity. Anyone care to join?

Has to be PC Christmas in DC

This was new this year, so I asked Steven if Obama was Jewish to which he frankly states "nope..he's Muslim".....I don't quite get it...so i know there is no religion is school...now we are sending a message that Christmas is not about Christ with the menorah thing.....and its right next to the CHRISTmas tree.....we are a conflicted and confused and hypocritical nation. I guess it is PC to do this but I don't get it...why not represent all religions?

After giving myself a headache over that...we went to see the really cool train exhibit at the nat gardens. This was super cool! All the little houses were made from natural things like pine cones, pumpkins, gourds, tree bark. It was like a fairy land!

Funny picture of keira trying to keep warm...it was FREEZING!

The capital Christmas tree....no menorah here so maybe there is hope!

National gardens again...yes that is all trees, sticks, mud and leaves!
